We knew this was going to be a close game heading in and we weren't proved wrong! Visitors Red Bull Salzburg came down heavy on the Lahti Pelicans in the Champions Hockey League Playoffs-opener but with just one goal between them, this series is still all but decided!
"Salzburg were strong defensively," highlighted Lars Bryggman, the author of the sole goal for the Finns, after the game, "they didn't give us anything for free."
"They did what they had to do but we had our chances as well - especially on the powerplay - and we just need to do better overall," he added to his summary of the game.
What about the sole highlight of the game for the Pelicans, Bryggman's goal?
"It was a really good transition from us," was his response, "it ended up with a nearly empty net for me which is good. A nice goal!"
The stats display how Salzburg really locked the Finns down. Is there a chance to turn the tables in the Return Game? What will need to change?
"The Return Game can go either way. We need to be better and that will give us the biggest chance of winning," he ended.
