- Arttu Ilomäki: 3 goals for Luleå
- Robin Kovacs: 1 goal, 2 assists for Luleå
- Ebbett & Untersander: 2 points each for Bern
After winning in Bern 3-0 last week, Luleå Hockey only needed to avoid losing by more than two goals on home ice to ensure their spot in the Champions Hockey League Quarter-Finals. Instead, they won by two goals, and 7-2 on aggregate.
SC Bern knew they had an uphill climb ahead of them but got off on the right foot when Andrew Ebbett scored shorthanded at 5:45, taking a pass from Ramon Untersander on the rush and firing a wrister over the shoulder of Joel Lassinantti. However, goals by Robin Kovacs and Arttu Ilomäki gave Luleå a 2-1 lead in the game and a 5-1 lead on aggregate.
Yanik Burren's one-timer from the point in the last minute of the first period gave Bern a slightly better feeling at the break and maybe a ray of hope for the last 40 minutes, but Luleå settled into a solid defensive game and didn't give them many chances the rest of the way.
Midway through the middle frame, Ilomäki swept in a rebound on the power play to restore Luleå's lead in the game. Then with less than five minutes to play and the series winner in little doubt, Ilomäki completed his hat trick with his second power-play goal of the game, making the final game score 4-2.
