Luleå Hockey controlled this game from start to finish as Jukurit Mikkeli got their first taste of pan-European club ice hockey in the Champions Hockey League.
The Swedes scored their first of five six minutes into the game before adding three in the span of five minutes midway through the second period as Julius Honka and Konstantin Komarek scored one each and Einar Emanuelsson scored a brace.
Jukurit's Niklas Peltomäki scored his side's first-ever goal in the CHL at 31:40 with the goal being a powerful shot from the circle that sailed into the top left-hand corner of Matteus Ward's net.
Luleå then added goal #5 at 55:18 before a late 5-on-3 for Jukurit offered the Finns a chance to reduce the four-goal deficit and that's exactly what they did, with Pekka Jormakka poking it in from just outside the crease. But the late goal only corrugated the scoreline to a final 5-2 for the visitors.
