- Ljubljana host first CHL match
- Turku led on shots 75-40
- Turku beat Ljubljana for second time in a week
Olimpija Ljubljana welcomed their second face-off against TPS Turku with their first home game and first-ever Champions Hockey League game in Ljubljana. Things were off to a quick start, with the home team wasting no time to get the first one behind the net with Aleksandar Magovac and the assist by Marc-Oliver Vallerand and Christopher Dodero at 4:35. Ruben Rafkin came in with the equalizer at 12:43 for Turku.
Ljubljana decided to pull their goalie, after Zan Us suffered an injury, bringing in Anthony Morrone at the 30:19 mark.
At just over a minute into the second period, Mikael Pyyhtia with the assist by Kai Kantola gave Turku the lead. As pressure started to mount, Ljubljana's Joona Verner Erving was called for tripping, giving Turku the chance to score the game's first powerplay goal at the hands of Lauri Korpikoski.
Despite being outnumbered after Jimi Suomi was called for interference, Teemu Kivihalme managed to sweep the next one in for Turku, giving them a solid 4-1 lead as they closed out the second period.
Just as Kivihalme ended the second period on a high note for Turku, his penalty at the top of the third gave Ljubljana the moment they needed to strike, with Luka Kalan scoring the home team’s first powerplay goal at 40:51.
Although the home team's fans tried their best to give a much-needed energy boost for Ljubljana, time slipped by in the final period without any luck, granting Turku a 4-2 win!
