Belarus crowned its champions on Wednesday night, meaning we have another team re-qualified for next season’s Champions Hockey League.
Yunost Minsk will be back in the competition next season as Belarus’ sole representatives. The team from the capital beat out Neman Grodno in the Extraliga finals 4 games to 1. This will be Yunost’s third CHL participation.
In their first season, they reached the Round of 32 before losing to eventual champions Frölunda Indians, while this past season they fell it on the group stage despite two home wins over the Malmö Redhawks and TPS Turku. Up until they faced Red Bull Munich in Minsk, Yunost has never lost at home in the CHL.
