Tim Stützle (Adler Mannheim)

Although the past two weeks were his very first adult hockey experience, this Adler Mannheim youngster leads the U18 players' ranking in points, as he netted two and got two more assists. Stützle participated in all four rounds of the CHL played to date, and was able to get a point in each game, therefore, he shares second place in his team's scoring ranking with two former NHLers - Marcel Goc and Borna Rendulić, only one point behind Matthias Plachta. The Krefeld-raised teenager has taken his time and waited for the best opportunity to shoot: he only tried his luck eight times so far, but while scoring two goals his shot accuracy reaches a respectable 25%. One can't even wonder why is this forward rated close to the Top 10 in the upcoming NHL Entry Draft, and considering Stützle is about to play his first season in senior hockey in Germany, the chances of him climbing higher are definitely not negligible.

Lucas Raymond (Frölunda Indians)

In the NHL teams' and scouts' eyes, and without a doubt the biggest 2020 NHL Entry Draft prospect in the whole of Europe, Lucas Raymond is almost certainly predicted to be taken in the Top 3. Some say he will surpass Quinton Byfield to secure the spot #2, just behind a generational talent in Alexis Lafrenière. Raymond's performance in the CHL so far just confirms this anticipation as he is the second 'young gun' to have a point per game average. Three games played (he missed Frölunda's first clash of the year against Graz99ers) and nothing short of two goals and an assist means that considering his one-game absence he shares the bronze medal place in the Indians' scoring ranking. He excelled especially on Game Day 3 during the 'revenge game' against Graz when he netted two, but overall the Göteborg-born winger displays a great hockey sense as he converted both of his shots on goal, and has a fantastic plus-minus score of +4.

Alexander Holtz (Djurgården Stockholm)

Sweden's, and Europe's, general #2 for the upcoming NHL Draft, Alexander Holtz is doing his best to make sure he will be taken in the Top 5. With only three games in senior hockey under his belt before the start of the CHL, Holtz is definitely playing a big part in Djurgården sitting in a qualification spot currently; he contributed with two goals in four games, one of which directly resulted in his team's win, despite not getting an outstanding amount of time on ice (14:12 minutes on average so far). The right-handed winger is definitely not afraid of taking a shot, which can be confirmed by the 12 attempts on goal he's had in total, the fourth-most on his team.

With Djurgården needing just one point in the remaining two Group Stage games, Holtz could get promoted up the lines, and considering his inexhaustible shooting the question is what damage is he capable of doing to opponents?

Topi Niemelä (Kärpät Oulu)

The lone Under 18 defenseman in the 2019-20 Champions Hockey League season, and for the first time not playing against players of his age - but Oulu's Topi Niemelä doesn't seem to mind. Not being the biggest D-man to play the game, he focuses more on the offensive part of his job and does that very well. With two points and two assists in four games, Niemelä is one of only three of Kärpät's defensive players to record a point, and this all with less than 11 minutes of ice time per game! Both of his points came on Game Day 3 when his side took good care of Grenoble and despite the lack of playing time, he was still able to block four opponents' shots, the fourth-most of his team. This season is going to be crucial for Niemelä as he is fighting for the highest position possible in the NHL Entry Draft, and so far his CHL and Liiga performances could give him a shot to secure a first-round spot.

John-Jason Peterka (Red Bull Munich)

A newcomer to the German part of the Red Bull family, John-Jason Peterka previously played for the famous RB Hockey Akademie and got an unbelievable total of 94 points in just 48 games - no wonder Munich wanted to give him a shot in the pros!

Peterka hasn't been blessed with ice time so far, nevertheless he was still able to record an assist on Game Day 2 during the 3-0 win against Banská Bystrica. The Munich-native is hungry for more and doesn't waste his precious ice time as he got a decent amount of five shots so far, on average approximately one every six minutes on the ice. Will he force the coach to give him more options to participate in the CHL with the qualities he's showing in the DEL?
