We'll have two season-openers this season, both scheduled for 17:30 CEST. The first will see Dynamo Pardubice host Ilves Tampere in Czechia in a game in which the Extraliga regular season winners will face 16-time Finnish champions Ilves.

The second game will be played in Finland, as the Lahti Pelicans host 2023 SHL champions the Växjö Lakers from neighbouring Sweden.

Half an hour later, Norway's Stavanger Oilers will host Swedish side Färjestad Karlstad while the Aalborg Pirates will welcome the team to beat in Europe right now, Tappara Tampere, to Denmark for their game scheduled for 19:00 CEST.

At 19:30 CEST, Adler Mannheim will face HC Bolzano - a game that sees two clubs with a combined nine CHL seasons between them battle it out for an important three points.

19:45 CEST is when the puck will drop in Switzerland for the first time in 2023/24, as EHC Biel-Bienne and HC Košice compete for a Game Day 1 win.

As the clock strikes 20:00 CEST, the Rouen Dragons' CHL season will start as their home crowd welcome German side ERC Ingolstadt, who are returning to Europe's elite club ice hockey competition for the first time since 2017, to France. 

The action-packed evening of European hockey will end with HC Innsbruck's game against National League champions Genève-Servette scheduled for 20:20 CEST.
