And then there were four. The Champions Hockey League Quarter-Finals ended with an action-packed night of European Playoffs hockey action and has set the stage for the upcoming Semi-Finals in January 2025. Here are the four teams left in the race for the European Trophy, all hunting to seal their place in CHL Final 2025.
Färjestad Karlstad
Regular Season Winners Färjestad Karlstad had a tough Quarter-Finals First Game against Red Bull Salzburg in Austria, but put all the doubters firmly in their seats with a roaring 6-0 win in front of their faithful home crowd. Watch out for this Goliath team that have lost just a single game all season!
ZSC Lions Zurich
The reigning Swiss champions continue their strong run in the Champions Hockey League having moved past the feared Eisbären Berlin. The Swiss came back from 0-3 scores in both the First and the Return Game, proving they have a lion's strength and determination well within them. And with CHL Top Scorer Sven Andrighetto, who has been troubling teams across Europe with his 17 points (7G, 10A) in nine games played, on their roster, Zurich are truly in the battle for a place in the CHL Final.
Sparta Prague
The Czechs looked to be well and truly out of the race for the Semi-Finals when their Quarter-Finals series against the Växjö Lakers was locked at 6-4 in favour of the Swedes with under five minutes of the Return Game left. But a monumental comeback saw them fire two to level the series in regulation and the game-winner in OT to get through to the Final Four. Don't forget Sparta Prague finished CHL Runners-Up in 2017...
Genève-Servette
The reigning CHL Champions are another step closer to achieving their goal of back-to-back European Club Champions titles. After a lacklustre Regular Season, Genève-Servette will enter the Semi-Finals against ZSC Lions Zurich unbeaten in the Playoffs and having scored 18 goals in four games. Safe to say they've packed a punch.
