Ahead of the start of the upcoming Champions Hockey League season, we asked the Head Coaches of the Rouen Dragons' six Regular Season opponents what their thoughts are on the French team - here's what they had to say!
ERC Ingolstadt Head Coach Mark French: “They are the most successful team in French hockey of the past 25 years and reached the knockout round of the CHL twice. It will be interesting to play a team from a league we aren’t too familiar with.”
Lahti Pelicans Head Coach Tommi Niemelä: “The team from France are an interesting opponent with a wealth of experience in winning.”
Ilves Tampere Head Coach Antti Pennanen: “Rouen are going to be a new opponent for all of us. We’re excited to get to know yet another culture and style of hockey. I’m really looking forward to playing against them.”
Skellefteå AIK Head Coach Robert Ohlsson: “This will be a great challenge. We have not faced any French team before so this will be a new experience for us. We will have to scout them through Pierre-Édouard Bellemare.”
Genève-Servette Head Coach Jan Cadieux: “The Rouen Dragons are a team with a winning culture and experience with European competitions. We’ve already met them in friendly matches and each time the outcome was close. It will be interesting to see what happens in a more competitive context.”
Adler Mannheim Head Coach Johan Lundskog: “I had the chance to go to France and play in the CHL a couple of years ago. It was a great experience and I expect the same thing against Rouen. They’re a proud club, that have recently had success in their own league. For sure it’s going to be a tough game for us.”
