Ahead of the start of the upcoming Champions Hockey League season, we asked the Head Coaches of Oceláři Třinec's six Regular Season opponents what their thoughts are on the Czech team - here's what they had to say!
Rapperswil-Jona Lakers Stefan Hedlund: “Třinec have won the Czech championship three times in the last three years and are one of the top teams in Europe – a very tough opponent. They have very skilled forwards in Martin Růžička and Marko Daňo which we’ll have to control.”
Red Bull Munich Head Coach Toni Söderholm: “Třinec are a very robust opponent with a good quality of skating. They haven’t become Czech champions three times in a row for nothing!”
Ilves Tampere Head Coach Antti Pennanen: “Třinec have been a top team in Czech and last year they won the Extraliga title. We all know that we are going to face a really good team, well coached with good players.”
Lahti Pelicans Head Coach Tommi Niemelä: ”The reigning Czech champions are a physical team with a lot of grit to their game.”
Stavanger Oilers Head Coach Anders Gjøse: “Last season’s Extraliga champions. Experienced roster and overall solid team. Will be fun to play them at home. Big and strong team.”
