The 2022/23 Group Stage Draw is behind us and now we know who will face who in the first phase of the upcoming season!
Here are all the Groups
Group A
Luleå Hockey of Sweden will face 2016/17 CHL Finalists Sparta Prague in this group. Denmark's Aalborg Pirates return for their second CHL stint and Jukurit Mikkeli will make their debut on the European stage later this year.
Group B
Swiss powerhouse EV Zug will face-off against DEL side Grizzlys Wolfsburg, Liiga side TPS Turku, who will play in their seventh CHL season this year and Slovenia's first-ever team in the CHL, Olimpija Ljubljana, will make their debut for club and country.
Group C
Last season's Finalists Tappara Tampere will face their Semi-Finals opponents from last season, Red Bull Munich, in the 2022/23 Group Stage. Rapperswil-Jona Lakers will make their CHL debut this season and Slovakia's domestic champions Slovan Bratislava are back for their second try at the pan-Europan competition.
Group D
Reigning CHL Champions Rögle Ängelholm will have to fight off ZSC Lions Zurich of Switzerland, newcomers from Hungary Fehérvár AV19 and Polish Ekstraliga champions GKS Katowice.
Group E
ICE champions Red Bull Salzburg face Fribourg-Gottéron of Switzerland, CHL debutants Ilves Tampere of Finland and Norweigian champions Stavanger Oilers, who will play in their fifth CHL season later this year.
Group F
SHL champions Färjestad Karlstad were draw against Villach SV of the ICE league, the DEL's CHL debutants Straubing Tigers and IIHF Continental Cup winners Comarch Cracovia.
Group G
Eisbären Berlin won their second DEL title in a row recently and will face Czech Extraliga regular season winners Mountfield HK, four-time CHL Champions Frölunda Gothenburg from Sweden and Ligue Magnus winners Grenoble from France.
Group H
Czech Extraliga champions Oceláři Třinec face Skellefteå AIK, who lace up for their seventh CHL season, Switzerland's HC Davos and 2021/22 EIHL champions the Belfast Giants.
Playing dates for the upcoming CHL season have been published on the CHL website.
The season will start with the first round of Group Stage games on Thursday, 1 September, and will climax with the one-game Final on 18 February 2023. This ultimate showdown will be hosted on a Saturday for the very first time in CHL history.
