The Champions Hockey League returns for the 2022/23 season with eight games on opening day. Here's what's coming up today:
GKS Katowice will welcome reigning CHL champions Rögle Ängelholm to Poland at 18:05 CEST, marking the first puck drop of the new season.
55 minutes later, Fehérvár AV19 will make their CHL debut against Switzerland’s ZSC Lions Zurich in Hungary.
Four-time CHL Champions Frölunda Gothenburg will face Mountfield HK at 19:05 CEST in a rematch of the 2020 CHL Final, the Czech club's last game on Europe's biggest stage.
Fribourg-Gottéron will welcome Ilves Tampere to Switzerland for the Finnish club’s first game in the pan-European competition at 20:00 CEST.
At the same time, Rapperswil-Jona Lakers will make their CHL debut at home, welcoming Bavarian giants Red Bull Munich to their stadium.
20 minutes later, 2022 ICE champions Red Bull Salzburg will face returnees Stavanger Oilers to close out the action of Game Day 1.
