In order to allow European club ice hockey to return to play, the CHL, together with Dr. Beat Villiger, Head of the Medical Task Force SIHF and Member of the Expert Group IIHF and Medical Committee IIHF, have defined COVID-19 Guidelines & Recommendations for all participating clubs and other stakeholders.

All games during this season's competition will be subject to the CHL's Covid-19 Guidelines and Recommendations, which all teams, officials, and event organisers are obliged to follow. In many cases, national laws will supersede these guidelines, however the CHL's own rules were designed to ensure that a minimum standard will apply across all games this season, regardless of the country they take place in.
