The CHL Board has decided not to invite a Belarusian team to the 2022/23 season of the Champions Hockey League (applies to: national champions and potential IIHF Continental Cup winners). Due to the unpredictable situation in the country, participation of a Belarus team in the CHL is considered, as of today, too risky for all involved stakeholders.
Especially ongoing flight disruptions make it impossible for all involved parties to plan ahead. For a pan-European competition like the CHL, it is a prerequisite that teams, fans, officials, sponsors/partners and service providers can travel reliably and stay safely. Unfortunately, this is currently not the case for travel to and from Belarus.
Regardless of the current decision, Belarus, with all their CHL history, remain a respected partner and the doors for future collaboration remain open.
