Genève-Servette, the reigning champions of Switzerland, have kept their championship-winning momentum going by making it all the way to Final Four in the Champions Hockey League and are now just one game away from a spot in the all-or-nothing Final!
The Swiss team have scored in each and every game they've played in this season of the pan-European competition, with goal-scorers being laid out throughout the line-up, but set-up play has been dominated by a select few players - 32-year-old ex-NHLer Sami Vatanen has been one of the best.
With 10 points (2G,8A) in 11 games, an average of over 23 minutes of ice time per game, a team-high of 20+ blocked shots and some big hits, it's clear Vatanen has been perfect on the blue line while setting up his teammates in front of the net for some important goals.
The Finn has also been extremely disciplined, with only two penalty minutes to his name in 11 games and combined with stats like he's posted so far this season, there's no discussion on why he's up for the 2023/24 LGT MVP Award!
You can vote for Sami Vatanen as your LGT MVP for 2023/24 from Sunday, 14 January at 17:00 CET here.
