The Group Stage might be over, but that doesn't mean that anyone has forgotten some of the great lengths fans went to support their teams in the opening phase of this season's Champions Hockey League.
Let's have a look at some of them who really went beyond!
Augsburg definitely had one of the biggest fan followings during their road games in the Group Stage. Panther fans travelling in huge numbers to Belfast, Luleå and most recently Liberec where they saw their team make the Round of 16!
Fans from the United Kingdom have had a reputation for travelling in large, and loud, numbers in the Champions Hockey League - and this season was no exception! While those from Belfast got their first taste of CHL hockey on the road, Cardiff's planned the trip to Hradec Kralové (home of Mountfield HK) and Graz in great numbers too. They were rewarded with their first ever road win against the 99ers!
There probably isn't a hockey fan in Europe that hasn't heard about Ambrí-Piotta's fans, and the atmosphere they create at home games. In the CHL they were able able to export that to new places, in particular Munich. Despite being shutout by the Red Bulls, HCAP's loyal fanbase still stuck around after the game to salute their heroes off the ice!
Mountfield HK will play in the CHL Playoffs for the first time this season - and they got there with the help of their fans backing them in Graz. An official trip was organised to southern Styria with the fans travelling on a special trail from their city to one of the stations in Graz closest to the 99ers' arena. Filling the away end behind one goal, Mountfield's fans saw their team take a win which ultimately put them into the Round of 16.
Adler Mannheim's fans are known for creating an intimidating place to play in their own building, and they were also taking their support across boarders this season, too. Away in Vienna, those Adler fans took over more seats than the regular visiting supporters' section in the rink, and backed their team to an emphatic win.
