The year 2023 has been a big one here in the Champions Hockey League and with holiday season in full swing, Christmas just days away and New Year's just around the corner, we wanted to take the opportunity to thank everyone for following us and, regardless of who you support, being part of Europe's biggest club ice hockey competition for another year.
But before we go, here are a few moments that really stood out for us in 2023!
2023 CHL Final
Back in February of this year, Luleå Hockey and Tappara Tampere battled it out for the title of European Club Champions up in Northern Sweden. The close game in the sold-out venue saw Finnish giants Tappara lift the European Trophy for the very first time in their history in a season in which they were simply unstoppable on all fronts!
Take a look at all the best moments from in front of the camera and behind the scenes in the video below.
Putting the champions in Champions Hockey League
Changes ahead of the 2023/24 season made it harder than ever to compete on Europe's biggest club ice hockey stage as the starting line-up went from 32 to just 24 teams...
And with 13 of those clubs entering the competition as national champions, the quest for the European Trophy has never been tougher!
Our favourite goal
There have been A LOT of goals so far this season but this spectacular game-winner from the Belfast Giants' Daniel Tedesco stands out for many reasons - the timer, the atmosphere and the skill.
Rewatch this one and take it all in!
You, the Fans!
It's all about the fans, and 2023 has been another year in which we've seen amazing fan support across the continent. Veteran teams, returnees or newcomers - regardless of which category a team falls into, fans have flooded arenas and gone on crazy away game trips to support their favourite teams against Europe's best. Take a look at some of our favourite fan moments!
Dream debut for HC Innsbruck
ICE-HL side HC Innsbruck entered the 2023/24 season as the only newcomers of the year but made an immediate impact when they beat reigning Swiss champions and current CHL Semi-Finalists Genève-Servette 5-2...
The Austrians went 0-2 down within the first three minutes of the game before taking a complete U-turn, scoring five unanswered goals to take a huge win on their CHL debut!
Regardless of what you celebrate, enjoy the end of the year and be sure to return in 2024 for the CHL Semi-Finals in January and ultimate one-game Final in February!
