A busy few weeks in hockey leagues around Europe have given us seven more qualifiers for the 2025/26 season of the Champions Hockey League! With just four places for the upcoming season remaining, let's take a closer look at the latest teams to join our line-up.
Head here for a full breakdown of qualified teams!
HC Bolzano
After missing out on the action last season, Italian side HC Bolzano are back for their fifth season of elite European club ice hockey. Though they finished towards the bottom end of the CHL Regular Season in 2023/24, they are always a tough and exciting team to follow in our competition. Watch out for the Foxes!
Grenoble
New French champions Grenoble became the first Challenger League team to make the line-up of the upcoming season when they sealed the national title 10 days ago. With three past CHL seasons on their resume, they'll be eager to experience six strong opponents over the course of the Regular Season and fight for a place in the knockout rounds.
Belfast Giants
2023/24 CHL participants and new Elite League champions the Belfast Giants are also back in Europe's biggest club ice hockey competition and after finishing just one point outside of the Playoffs last time around, they'll be looking to take it one step further when the puck hits the ice later this year. They ended their most recent six-game CHL season with a very strong 3-3 record as they toppled some elite teams from the continent, including fellow 2025/26 qualifiers Red Bull Salzburg and current Czech Extraliga finalists Dynamo Pardubice.
GKS Tychy
Polish teams have been getting stronger and stronger on the European hockey scene and we think that new Polish hockey league champions GKS Tychy could really mix things up this season. They became the first Polish team to record points and a win when they first played back in 2018, could there be more to come in 2025/26?
Storhamar Hamar
It's back-to-back CHL qualifications for back-to-back champions of Norway Storhamar Hamar, who became our fourth Challenger League qualifier when they lifted the trophy last week. Despite not making the CHL Playoffs last season, two wins and a special game against Färjestad Karlstad made it a season to remember.
Frölunda Gothenburg
They're back! The four-time CHL Champions, five-time CHL Finalists and the most successful team in our history are back after missing two full seasons. These juggernauts of European club ice hockey will rightfully be one of the most feared teams in 2025/26 and having made the Semi-Finals in their last CHL campaign, they'll be looking to return to their daily business of winning on the European stage. Do not underestimate Frölunda Gothenburg!
EV Zug
Another one of Europe's greats returns for 2025/26, as EV Zug fill in Switzerland's fourth and final place for the upcoming season. The National League side didn't miss a single season between 2014 and 2022 and have made it as far as the Semi-Finals. We can't wait to see a packed BOSSARD Arena in blue and white again!
