Graz 99ers ended their debut Champions Hockey League campaign in Hradec Kraloveé earlier this week. The 99ers were already out after losing to Mountfield a week earlier.
Despite not being able to end on a high, there were plenty of positives which forward Colton Yellow Horn was taking from the campaign. "I thought we played good for the first two periods and then ran out of legs," said the Canadian of their last game. "It wasn't outcome we wanted, but it was a good experience - not only for the younger guys, but also for us as well."
There was however a sense of unfinished business for the 99ers. "We didn't achieve what we wanted in the Champions Hockey League but we'll go and focus on the EBEL now," he added. "You get to play other leagues and teams, and see how you compare. Seeing how other teams train and play is exciting stuff, but now it's time to focus on our own domestic season and make sure we're in the playoffs again."
Three teams from the EBEL will qualify for next season's competion.
