Neman Grodno return for their fourth CHL adventure in 2019/20.
In the 2017/18 campaign, they had somewhat of an unlucky result - despite only losing one game in regulation, and not being beaten on the road in 60 minutes at all, Neman didn't do enough to advance from the group as they finished behind EV Zug, and JYP.
Professional ice hockey originated in Grodno in 1988, when hockey club Progress-ShVSM was created by the merger of two teams: ShVSM (Grodno) and SKIF-ShVSM (Minsk). Three years later Progress-ShVSM was renamed Neman, the name that is used today.
The team has participated in the Belarusian league since 1993. During this time, Neman have won the championship seven times (in 1998, 1999, 2001 2013, 2014, 2017 and 2018) with a number of second- and third-place finishes. At the beginning of the 2014-15 season the team played in the Belarusian Cup and took its main prize – the Ruslan Salei Trophy. The club's most recent achievement at the international level is its victory at the 2015 IIHF Continental Cup Super Final.
