BK Mladá Boleslav are one of the oldest Czech hockey clubs and are one of the founding members of the Czech Ice Hockey Association. The club was founded in 1908 and has spent most of its time competing in the lower tiers of Czech ice hockey. They were promoted to the Czech Extraliga, the top tier of ice hockey, in 2008 and enjoyed a four-year spell before dropping back down. They returned for the 2014/15 season and have stayed ever since. They have made the playoffs in the last three seasons.
Famous NHL star and five-time World Champion David Výborný was captain of the team for five seasons and went on to become Sports Director of the club. His father, František, was head coach of the team when they last participated in the Champion Hockey League in 2016/17.
Their last participation pitted them against eventual Semi-Finalists the Växjö Lakers and Yunost Minsk in the Group Stage. Boleslav managed two wins and scored five points but narrowly missed out on the Playoffs.
